State Bank Of India (SBI) is the largest bank of India with 23% of the market share in assets.

 

SBI is an Indian multinational, public sector banking and financial services statutory body, headquartered in Mumbai.

 

The Bank of Madras merged with, the Bank of Calcutta and the Bank of Bombay to form Imperial Bank of India, which in turn became State Bank of India in 1955.

 

The Government Bank of India took the control of the Imperial Bank of India in 1955, with the Reserve Bank of India taking 60% stake, and renaming it to State Bank of India.

  1. The candidate must fulfill any one of the following :

  4. Must be a subject of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan.
  5. Candidates should be Tibetan refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962, for settling permanently in India.
  6. Candidates should be a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Myanmar, Uganda, Malawi, Tanzania, Vietnam, Zaire with the motive to settle permanently in India.

GATE Exam : Basic information To Get Into Amazing Career

The Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) is a national-level standardized computer-based test predominantly aimed to test the comprehensive understanding of undergraduate subjects like engineering, technology, architecture, and post-graduate subjects.

 

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) along with seven Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) jointly conduct the GATE examination every year. It is the qualifying entrance examination for getting admission in Postgraduate (PG) courses (M. E, MTech, M.Arch, Ph.D.) in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and IISc.

As per MHRD norm, the institute has the authority to take the candidate on the basis of their GATE score or on the basis of GATE score along with the admission test/interview conducted by the respective college the candidate has applied and the academic record.

 

If the candidate is selected through the interview process in postgraduation, then 70% weightage is given to the GATE score and 30% in the interview process or academic record. Qualification in GATE is the minimum requirement to apply for various fellowships awarded by many Government organizations.

 

The criteria for postgraduate admission with scholarship /assistantship are different for the different institutions. As per UGC and MHRD, the scholarship for the GATE qualified master’s degree students is Rs. 12,400 per month.

JEE ADVANCED

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an all-India engineering entrance examination conducted with the sole purpose of admission to different engineering colleges in India. The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi has introduced this National Level Entrance Examination known as Joint Entrance Examination, for admission to various engineering colleges in India.

 

This examination was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) till 2018. From 2019, the responsibility of the conduction of the examination was vested to National Testing Agency (NTA).

 

The examination comprises of two phases- JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. JEE Mains was replaced by the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) and JEE Advanced was replaced by IIT-JEE Entrance Exam. The main aim of this exam was to reduce the strain of the students for appearing in multiple entrance exams.

 

Every year more than 25,000 engineering and architecture seats are filled through the score of the JEE Exam.

 

Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced): This is a national-level engineering entrance examination conducted annually for admission to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). Formerly, JEE Advanced was known as the Indian Institute of Technology- Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE).

 

It is conducted by one of the seven zonal IITs, namely IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, and IIT Guwahati under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB). Other Universities like the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISERs), and the Indian School of Science also accept the score of JEE Advanced for admission.

JEE Advanced Exam Eligibility Criteria

 

1. Nationality 

Indian citizens, Overseas citizens of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and Foreign Nationals can apply for JEE Advanced Exam.

 

Foreign Nationals: Any candidate appearing for the JEE Advanced exam, who are not citizens of India by birth or naturalized are treated as foreign nationals. Only 10% of the total seats in each course are allotted to them. They are not allowed to write JEE Mains exam, they can directly apply for JEE Advanced Exam.

 

2. Performance in JEE Mains Exam 

Candidates who fall in the rank list up to 2,50,000 in JEE Mains Exam across all the categories are eligible to apply for JEE Advanced Exam. The percentage of the admission for different categories are given below :

3. Age Limit

No relaxation for any categories.

 

4. Performance in Class 12th  Exam 

 

Candidates have to fulfill any one of the criteria given below :

JEE ADVANCED EXAM PATTERN

 

Following are some of the highlights of the exam pattern of JEE Advanced.

  • This is a computer-based national-level exam.
  • It consists of two compulsory papers- Paper-1 & Paper 2.
  • Each paper has three sub-sections -Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • The question paper will be MCQ, numerical, and lists match in nature.
  • The exam is in both Hindi & English. Candidates can select or switch any of the languages during the examination
  • There are some questions with more than one correct answer option, for those questions the candidate must select all the correct options to get full marks. Partial marks are awarded if one or a few correct options are selected. Zero marks will be awarded if the question is not attempted.
  • Some questions are awarded negative marks for incorrect answers.

JEE Main Exam Eligibility

There are some eligibility criteria set by National Testing Agency (NTA).

1. Nationality 

Candidates should be a citizen of India. Foreign candidates as well as NRIs, PIOs, OCIs can also apply for the exam.

2. Age Limit 

There is no age limit for JEE Main exam. However, the candidates are advised to check the age criteria of the institute to which they wish to apply.

 

3. Year of Passing of the Qualifying Exam

Candidates should have passed class 12th or equivalent qualifying exam in 2018 or 2019.

Candidates appearing for class 12th or equivalent qualifying exam in 2020 can also apply for the exam.

4. Subject in the qualifying Exam 

It is mandatory for all the candidates to have at least five subjects with Physics and Mathematics as their core subjects in their qualifying examination.

B.Arch/B.Planning Language, Physics, Mathematics (Mandatory), Chemistry/ Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subject or any other subject.

 

Note: Diploma Holders are not eligible for B.Arch.

 

5. Total Number of Attempts

  • Candidates can appear for the exam consecutively for 3 years
  • The exam is conducted twice a year.
  • Appearing in both sessions in the same year will be counted as a single attempt.

 

6. The score required in the Qualifying Exam 

  • Minimum of 75% marks in aggregate (General)
  • Minimum of 65% marks in aggregate (SC/ST/PWD)

 

JEE MAINS EXAM PATTERN

 

The exam is an online exam, with two papers. Paper 1 is for B.E/B.Tech and Paper 2 is for B.Arch/B.Planning.
