National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination (NEET) is a national level entrance examination who wish to take admission for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH Veterinary, and other medical and paramedical courses in government and private colleges in India.
The NEET examination is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). NEET is the only entrance exam for admission in MBBS and BDS courses in India. AIIMS and JIPMER MBBS examinations have been merged with NTA NEET.

The NEET-UG is conducted by NTA, which provides the results to the Directorate General of Health Services at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Before 2019 the exam was administered by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in partnership with Prometric Testing Pvt Ltd headquartered in the US.
NEET UG has replaced the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) and all individual MBBS exams conducted by States or colleges themselves in 2013. This is the only entrance exam for admission to all the medical institutes in India including the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) according to the NMS Act, 2019.

2. Age Limit
- The minimum age as of December 31, 2020, should be 17 years. There is no upper cap in the age.
3. Educational Qualification
- Candidate must be class 12th or equivalent from a recognized board or institute.
- Appearing candidates can also apply for the NEET UG exam.
- Candidates who have completed class 12th or equivalent from an open school are also eligible to apply for NEET UG Exam.
4. Compulsory Subjects
- Candidates must have cleared class 12th or equivalent from a recognized board or institute with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- Candidates must have cleared class 12th or equivalent from a recognized board or institute with Biology as an additional subject are also eligible to appear for NEET UG Exam.

NEET PG
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduation is a national-level competitive entrance examination conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE). This exam is used for admission to various MD (Doctor of Medicine) MS (Master in Surgery) and PG Diploma courses across India.
The National Board of Examination awards the postgraduate degree, which is called Diplomate of National Board (DNB)
National Board of Examination was established in 1975, is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India. National Board of Examination conducts online NEET PG exam.
This is the only entrance examination for taking admission to PG. No other entrance examination either at State or Institution level will be considered valid for getting admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses as per the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 w.e.f.2020 admission session.
NEET PG is valid for admission to the following :
- All India 50% quota seat for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses in all states except Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Telangana.

Candidates who have completed their primary medical qualification from outside India but want to appear for the NEET PG exam, need to qualify for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE). This examination needs to be qualified to get registered in MCI. A Pass Certificate is issued to those candidates who qualify for the FMGE exam.

Candidates who have completed the compulsory rotary internship of one year will be eligible for NEET PG

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) is all India competitive entrance examination administered by the National Board of Examination (NBE).
NEET MDS is conducted online by the National Board of Examination was established in 1975, is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India. National Board of Examination conducts the NEET MDS exam online. This is the only entrance examination for taking admission to Dental PG courses.
No other entrance examination either at State or Institution level will be considered valid for getting admission to PG MDS courses as per the Dentist Act, 1948.
NEET MDS is valid for admission to the following:
- All India 50% quota seat for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses in all states except Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Telangana.

Candidates who have completed their UG Dental from Jammu & Kashmir will not be eligible for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats. Only those candidates will be qualified for AIQ seats who have been nominated by the Government of India (GOI) under the central pool quota seat.
